Classic Manual Camera Weekend, April 1

Recommended Posts

In some parts of the world it is already Friday, April 1 so let's get started on our weekend thread. For my three images I thought I would post some "firsts" from my photo experiences. I'll start with a shot from the first roll of color film I ever shot: outdated Kodak Ektachrome-X. I bought it cheap (I was only 11) and shot it in my Sears Cubex 127 (same as Imperial). I didn't wind the film tightly enough so some of the edges were graced with colorful light leakage. The subject was my dad who was busy shooting with his Mamiya Sekor 1000 TL with Vivitar 85-205 zoom (which when I was older he would loan it to me).

00drR9-562072584.jpg.7fe07d7b45cabe1821e485c52a6eb445.jpg

Nice spots of nostalgia, Mike! I love the color palette of each of these old films.
I have 3 images from late last year. The first is shot on my first Leica M (an M3, which I was very lucky to get for a cheap price) paired with a friend's Elmarit 90mm. The subject is the sign above a locksmith's shop - a clever idea, especially if (like me) one accumulates hundreds of keys but forgets what they are for!

Beautiful quality portrait of Daphne, Kent. In a response to my recent Paxette post, Dave Argenticien served to remind me that I hadn't used the nice old Voigtlander Vitessa for a while, so I loaded a roll of Arista EDU 100 and gave the camera a workout. It's the 50mm Ultron f/2 lens, and the film was processed in PMK Pyro. Scans from an Epson V700 using Silverfast SE software.

00drSm-562075984.jpg.f9b58b06497313ea459aa80487c894f6.jpg

Hello again everyone. My Thursday Farmer's Markets are always interesting. Last week I was noting all the crowd and their "take out" dinners. Many ways to enjoy a meal. Vito II, UFX400 @ 320 asa, Obsidian Aqua and V600 scans. Aloha, Bill

00drU7-562083884.jpg.21239880efd4e2173cb84b8670792c56.jpg
