Classic Manual Camera Weekend, July 22

Recommended Posts

Time to start posting those classic manual camera images as it's already Friday, July 22 in some time zones. Three images from your classic manual camera (no penalty if you exceed three) with open invitation to post that "fourth" image in the 365 day thread.
I'll start with a trio of images from my Minolta SRT 102 (loaded with Tri-X).

00e3nx-564442584.jpg.aa88bfbc83383adffed850f06770b355.jpg

Brief story behind that water tank: it served a local meat-packing company for many decades before being bought out by a national chain, which later closed this plant (putting 1200+ people out of work). When I was growing up I could see this water tank from my parents' house.

Nearly every small town has one or more influential families. While some families impact the community generation after generation, some families influence wanes and there's nothing left to remind the present day citizens of them except a gravestone or perhaps a street that bears their name. This badly worn monument is the final resting place of a couple that built a home prior to the Civil War, but unlike many homes from that area is largely forgotten. Today many travel the street that bears the name on the monument without even knowing the story behind it. This is why I would not be a good history teacher.

Got out the Bessa I to further explore Our Lady of the Ascension in Central Saanich. Has the humble Vaskar 105/4.5. On PanF+ in Rod/DDX Semi-stand. Scans on BSH/V700. Couple with a Zeiss Ikon Red Filter (8X). All taken Tripod/Cable Release.
First, the Church.

00e3tx-564458784.jpg.4beda77e2c09d4587d8c655e8bc4f446.jpg
