Louis, I love the Flossmoor shots! If you haven't already done so, be sure to stop at the Flossmoor Station and sample the incredible IPAs and other brews they make in the brewery located in the station's restaurant. Their ribeyes are also superb! Thanks for sharing such beautiful, colorful pics. It's a really nice place that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

I'm not sure where I prefer: Flossmoor or Oxford! I think that big city centres are obsolete today, hangovers from the days when transport was not readily available or affordable, and when communications were not advanced. I'd love to live in London or even NYC before WW2. But not today.

Anthea, I hope you don't mind, but this crop makes more sense to me. ;-)

00dZIO-559081584.jpg.5de5dfa6d17fe48c94929b0332e89fd8.jpg

Thanks for all the nice comments about my little hometown. It's very quaint and the people are so friendly. The Bartel Grasslands lie to the north-east and the county forest preserve to the south. A short walk to the train and in 35 minutes I get let off across the street from work...sweet.
If anyone would like to see some short videos about the town please click HERE

Andy- I sure have tried a number of Flossmoor Station fine brews but have yet to try the ribeye. I'll keep that in mind for next time. It's cool they brew the beer right at the station. It's happy hour just as I step off the train!

Hosteen, was an aperture so small as f/16 really necessary?
This young woman belongs to a large family which makes decorative objects of papier mache. I have an excuse for the lousy framing: three very small kids pushing me and trying to climb on to me as I squatted on the pavement.

00dZRc-559102584.jpg.225ea364205766b1ed5c22d25706e142.jpg

I feel kind of funny posting here - pestered the Nikon forum for about ten years, about "what gear" to take for a trip to Guatemala. Ended taking a Panasonic LX7 which I used for candid street shots. Here's the first one, from a market in Santa Maria de Jesus, Guatemala on the flanks of the V. de Agua, about 10 miles and 500 years in time removed from the old colonial capital of Antigua.
