Classic Manual Camera Weekend, Jan. 29

Recommended Posts

Something new for me. Set this up and shot in complete darkness wiith tripod. With the shutter open I used digital camera flash for light source from various angles. Permutations are endless for angles, distance of light source and angle of light source and brightness (which digital I used) I know, there is lots of equipment made to do this but this was simple. For convenience I used Fed 3 with Canon 1:18 lens and Fuji 400.
By the way I hand turned the chess set from oak and maple.

I found a 35mm Rollei RPX 100 film hiding in the fridge. I've never been very impressed by this film, but I'd never developed it in PMK Pyro, so I loaded it into Praktica BX20 and took it with me on a trip down to the coast. I duly developed it in the PMK Pyro and I'm still not terribly impressed; there's something harsh about the film; despite the conditions being lightly overcast I had difficulty maintaining shadow and highlight detail. Anyway, here are three of the better frames, scanned on an Epson V700.

00diZV-560514284.jpg.f20cdc15d2f17580b6f586ef01880f46.jpg
