Flash system for Sony A7R...I am so confused.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a flash system to replace my existing Canon 550EX Speedlites and ST-E2 controller. The reason is that while they will work with the Sony, they don't work well.

Instead I'm looking for a kit with 2 flashes and a controller which can do everything remotely without me having to do anything other than turn the flash on or off. Radio would be an advantage because I'm using soft boxes.

At this stage I have absolutely no idea what to look at. The Yongnuo systems seem very popular and on a cost/performance basis, would be my preference. However, most of the controllers I've seen are only for Canikon and Sony ones seem a bit rarer. Secondly, most of the ones I've seen just appear to be triggers with the flash mounted on them and no control over ratio or anything else.

For example, this seems to be the controller I need but I have yet to see one for Sony:

I'm guessing this is just a basic flash trigger:

And I have no idea what this does:

I know there is a new Nissan setup out there but it's a bit too pricey for me. I don't want to put too much dough into this because I'm actually aiming to get a Bowens Gemini 400 kit sometime in the new year. If it can be done using my existing Canon flashes but triggered by a third party controller (Pocketwizard etc) I would be happy with that.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
