Hi people in Nikon land,
just wanted to visit as I've had a little bit of a chance to photograph a little of late. Nice photos as always & I hope all are doing well in their part of the planet. Lex I see a lot of on Facebook and that makes me happy. I spend too much time there supporting me nephew who works for them ;)
My sister and her family where here for three weeks in August, at which time I had a chance to photograph the beauty of the family, my amazing older sister..... She likes extremes in B&W so that's what I give her. Though these will go from extreme to normal I'd say... She really wants them as extreme as the first one, but I think a variety is better for her to look at.... Still, I'm not a portrait photographer, but as long as my sister's happy with the result - that's all that matters to me.

So here are three photos of my amazing older sister taken with the NIKON D800 paired with the 70-200mm f/2.8 (the old one) @ 190 mm, 1/3200, ISO 400 -1/3EV Center weighted metering in Aperture mode....

Slightly less extreme NIKON D800, f/2.8 paired with the 70-200mm f/2.8 (the old one) @ 200 mm, 1/3200, ISO 400 -1/3EV Center weighted metering in Aperture mode....

And finally NIKON D800 paired with the 70-200mm f/2.8 (the old one) f/2.8 @ 200 mm, 1/3200, ISO 400 -1/3EV Center weighted metering in Aperture mode....

I hope you have enjoyed :)

Shun, I like your FE shot. How do you like using the 10.5mm on an FX body? Does the viewfinder mask off the DX frame?

Thanks. That drums classroom is pretty small and is full of instruments (as you can see). The first time I photographed in there, I use the Sigma 35mm/f1.4 on FX and it was not wide enough, so this time I brought the 28mm/f1.8 AF-S and also took the 10.5mm DX fisheye along. That is the only fisheye lens I have and I didn't bother to bring a separate DX body.

When you mount the 10.5mm DX fisheye on FX, the view from the viewfinder is like a center circle on top of a rectangle. The lens projects an image that is just slightly larger than the DX frame, plus center crescents on top and bottom. In other words, there are a lot of dark areas around the edges of the viewfinder.

I cropped the earlier fisheye image quite a bit to make the girl occupy a more significant area in the frame. Here is the full DX frame uncropped. (Glad I only posted 2 images earlier so that I still have one left for this week. :-) )

00dUrS-558500284.jpg.02c266fa2b99cc0f11c672a9cbeaebba.jpg
