Shutter actuations for Fuji G617

<p>I am considering purchase of a Fuji G617 with the SW 105/8 lens and the number of actuations in the counter shows as 121. Would this be considered excessive? Asking price is 800. Thanks.</p>

<p>IIRC you multiply the number by 10 to get the actual actuation. That means 1,210 actuations. That's low. As is the price if it 800 USD. Seems like a very good price for a G617 & lens if it is in good working condition. They tend to sell for $1200 to $2,000.</p>

<p>As I understand it, the counter is easily manipulated. You may want to do a little research on this forum as well as APUG. </p>

<p>If you are worried about shutter performance, a simple shutter tester will give a better idea than simple numbers (A low number and inactivity over a long period can be as bad as too many activations before maintenance). A good repair centre should have that equipment if you don't. I also think Fuji is very conservative about the 5000 activations before overhaul, which seems too low.</p>
