bob_salomon
The CURRENT Linhof screen and Fresnel are very, very good. And work with the widest range of focal lengths.
thirteenthumbs
The procedure for cleaning fresnels and ground glass is
1. remove them from the camera holding them by their edges only
2. under warm running water rinse both sides then apply a large drop of dish detergent to one side
3. gently rub the entire surface with your finger tips, rinse, repeat on the other side. rub the ribbed side of a fresnel in direction of the ribs not across them.
4. rinse thoroughly with water then in a weak photoflo solution and stand on edge and allow to air dry or towel dry with a lint free towel.
5. reinstall with ground side of ground glass facing the lens.
6. install the fresnel with the ribbed side facing the ground glass. install it first if it goes in front of the ground glass.

Works for any camera. Average increase in brightness is 1 to 2 stops depending on age and usage/storage conditions. Fine scratches may appear on the fresnel due to cleaning but varies from fresnel to fresnel.
