peter_j2
What are the differences between a Profoto Acute2 Head vs a Profoto Acute2/D4 Head vs a Profoto Acute/D4 Head?
michaelmowery
I wasn't for sure exactly myself, but you know you can go to Profoto website and get most of your answers . You can google anything else that you can't find. Anyways, I did what I just advised you and I found out that the Acute2 heads are rated at 1200 wats and the D4 are rated at 4800 wats.
peter_j2
Thanks again, Michael for your help. I wasn't able to get any full specifications on Google or Profoto for the discontinued Acute2 head. But, found everything on the Acute/D4 head. Now I know why there are price differences between the two on eBay.
michaelmowery
Only you know what type of power you need per flash head.
peter_j2
I am looking at a used Profoto Acute 2 2400 pack. It is the best bang for the dollar for portability versus the larger and heavier Profoto Pro 7A. So, the older Profoto Acute2 Head won't be sufficient for my use.
michaelmowery
I have two 1200 Acute 2 packs and two heads. Great system. All though I use the acute 600 battery pack system the most. I do people mostly so I don't require extreme amount of power.

peter_j2
Great choices. I am using a Profoto AcuteB2 600 AirS (344MHz) Pb and a Profoto AcuteB2 600 AirS LiFe for most of my people shoots. Otherwise, for events on the run requiring E-TTL II, I have a couple of Canon Speedlite EX-RT's tethered to a Quantum Turbo 3 Battery and a Quantum Turbo SC Battery. Not the greatest, but it works.
michaelmowery
So what do you need 2400 wat packs for?
peter_j2
For the future Profoto Giant Silver 210 addition. Or do you think the Profoto AcuteB2 600's are sufficient?
peter_j2
To update, I purchased a used Acute 2 and a used Acute/D4 Head. Both are capable of outputting 2400 Ws when connected to my Acute2R 2400 generator. I had the Acute2 Head tested on a D4 at the store before buying.
