Actually, I used both the EVF and the LCD. But to be honest, I wasn't comfortable with using either. I've been to many airshows and this is the first one I've ever attended using my NEX 7. And I gotta be honest, it wasn't a pleasant experience. I'm so used to using both eyes to range in and center an aircraft using a long lens with SLRs and DSLRs, I don't have to give it much thought. But it was a constant struggle with the NEX. First off, the EVF is much dimmer than optical VFs and to make matters worse, I was having trouble centering the planes the way I'm used to doing. Don't really understand why this was the case. So I would switch to the display whenever possible, but the display was a problem because of glare and reflections and the fact that it needed to be brighter out there in the bright sun. Next time I atttend an airshow, I dunno if I'm gonna be bringing my NEX, to be honest.</p>
