john_woo3
Hihi I have recently acquired a Sunpak 383 flash to work with my M2. Should I really mount it on the accessory shoe of the body when taking the picture?? Would there be any current coming out from the hot-shoe of the flash that would cause harm to the camera?? andy_piper2
The flash won't function on a pre-M4-2 Leica M without a sync (PC) cord connected to the PC outlet (no hot shoe on the camera).... ...and when you insert/attach the flash cord into the flash itself it should automatically press an internal switch in the foot of the flash and turn off the current to the hot shoe contacts. At least that's how Vivitar 2800/283 flashes work.
stephen_jones4
My M2 has a non-standard sync. terminal so you'll need an adaptor or a modification.
