Alex_Es
It's April here in Japan. The cherry blossoms are suddenly out and it is raining. Please honor us with your FD photos good friends!

I used my Leica M 240 and Fujifilm X-E1 a lot last month. Here are two results. First: Canon FDn 200/2.8 on the X-E1.

gary_d1
Beautiful shots all....I had to google what a "Canon Close Up Lens 500" was...Wow....Gorgeous. No loss in clarity that these eyes can tell !!.
ashbrown
Thanks Gary - the Close Up lens 500 is most likely not anywhere near the same league as a proper FD Macro lens, but is a relatively cheap and certainly compact and lightweight alternative to carry around in the bag, just in case. I have a 72mm version which fits on the 35-105/3.5 and 200/2.8, and use a stepping ring to put it on the 50/1.4, on which it also seems to work fine.

jim_bielecki1
I was asked to photograph this tattoo. As well as using my studio flash, I tried this high-contast shot. Not entirely sure if it's successful, but it is different. Taken with an original F-1 with FD 50/1.4. Kodak Plus-X in Xtol.

ashbrown
Nice work, Jim - it's very sculptural; lighting is the key to a shot like this, and I think you nailed it.

Do you give them names?....."
LOL...not quite...but you can start to notice some tell-tale indicators of "resident" birds though...for example, this particular Male Bluebird is a regular as he has a recognizable small tuft of white feathers on the back of his head.

He and his mate have built a nest in a Bluebird nest box so I'm hoping to set up on it in the near future and get some shots of the parents coming to the nest box opening with worms / bugs in their beaks for the hatchlings

ashbrown
Perhaps, Bill, they get equally philosophical when they see you lurking about with an FD lens on a digital body; two dissimilar species but also side x side in harmony :)
