deantaylor
Does the Graflex 135mm 4.7 front element simply unscrew from the Graphex #2 shutter? Initial attempts
found it to be quite resistant...also, does the back element disassemble as well...It appears to be even
more of a challenge than the front element (difficult to locate a seam between the rear element and the
back of the shutter)...
thank you

BrianS1664879711
Yes, it just screws off. Sometimes difficult to get started. Do not use harsh tools for gripping though. ...

john_shriver
Rubber sheet to hold the lens cell.
You might drip a bit of fine oil into the threads to loosen them. I've used that on stubborn beauty rings on lenses for 35mm cameras. Of course, it leaves a mess you have to clean up. You could try a drop of naphtha (lighter fluid) as lube instead.
don_gillette1
I use a rubber band wide and size of outer barrel it usually works and if not a bit of lighter fluid around the perimeter then try again. for the rear element some have knurling or a way to grip. I am not sure for it has been a long time since repairing these. Any way you look at it glass has to come off to clean shutter.
