z_z1
Kodak has a small print scanner (now disco'd)that can take up to 4 x 17 prints. I would think I should be able to put my 4x5 negs thru it no problem. The resolution is only 800 x 1200 but for web applications that's good enough. Has anyone tried this? jim schwaiger
Put the neg's on the glass, then a sheet of white paper on the negs (as a diffuser). Then take a lamp and shine that on the paper above the frame you are scanning. Vary the lamp distance for better results. If you can remove or turn off the scanner's light, it should help as well, but getting web quality images may not be trivial. The color adjustments after scanning and inverting are tricky as well. I assume this is a flatbed type and not a feedthru, if you have to feed it through, I don't think I'd risk the neg's getting scratched or destroyed. z_z1
Actually it's a feed thru type. I was thinking of taking the whole thing apart and putting the illumination source above the neg so it shown thru to the CCD. Who knows?
