<p>I bought my nikon SB 700 af brand <br />"new" in box a year ago on 12-13-13. haven't used it much maby 100 shots .Pulled it out my bag last night put full charged batteries and it won't even come on.anyone have any sugestions .</p>

<p>You can try switching it "ON", leave it there, remove the batteries and re-insert them after approx. 1 minute (all the while the powerswitch is set to "On"); this ought to function as a sort of 'hard reset' for the flash.</p>

<p>Sounds dull, but did you double check wether the batteries are inserted in the right way ? ( + and - in the right direction ? )</p>

<p>If the flash has been stored with batteries in it, then chances are that the contacts in the battery compartment have become oxidised and need cleaning. Run a dry cloth or tissue paper over those contacts that you can reach, and rub the ones in the bottom of the compartment with a cotton bud (Q-tip). The old trick of rolling the batteries around in their slots might work as well. Also clean the battery terminals if they're rechargeable cells.</p>

<p>Try the flash with new disposable Alkaline cells. If that works then check that your rechargeable cells are good with a mutimeter.</p>
