ron_gratz
I recently acquired a number of used sheet film holders. They appear sound except that the tape that holds the flaps at the film loading end is dry and stiff, in some cases coming loose completely. I've tried black electrician's tape but that seems to come loose rather easily with use. Does anyone know of a good tape to use that can be used to securely hold the flaps in place? Thanks. - Ron Gratz
brian_c._miller
I know I've seen somebody selling specifically a tape for film holders. A search on the B&H Photo/Video site shows a Bogen/Manfrotto "Gel repair tape" and Matthews "Grid Cloth / Silk Repair Tape" and Matthews "Muslin Repair Tape". kcrisp
ron: Get all the old glue etc off the filmholder. Use black gaffers' tape (I got my roll on the recommendation of somebody at Calumet when I asked this question) and I've used that tape for this and a million other things. Seems as good as original equipment for fixing these. Trim it so it doesn't interfere with the film holder fit.
chris_ellinger2
You can get the real thing from Calumet, their item number FI4506.
tracy_storer1
The repair department at Calumet Chicago sells exact replacement Fidelity film holder hinge tape. Probably not on the website, some salespeople in the stores won't know either. Tell them what size and how many. As someone else mentioned, the key is to remove ALL the old glue, actually, you should ask the repair people about that while you're ordering the tape. Good luck, Tracy
