Thank you very much Barry. I've never been to California but your photo captures what I think of when I hear someone talk about Southern California. There's a unique style to that part of the pacific rim.

Skeeter, I may just have to do some night photography in SA some time. That looks intriguing.

Johnny, that's a great photo. I just picked-up the 80mm and I've been loving it. It's nice to have a normal-ish lens for the Mamiya 7ii.

I don't have a clue what to think of my photos as. Not landscape, not street, not still life, etc. That must be a good thing. I just shoot from the center.

Thank you sincerely, Barry and Jim. Like you, Jim, I only recently acquired an 80mm and am really enjoying it. I hope to use the Mamiya 7ii a lot more than I have in the past, and I get a lot of inspiration from your pictures here. Oh, and Barry - I just love that Californian scene with the incredible light!

Jim, great contemplation of nothing, and pyrogallol really rocks! I think you should post this also on the film&processing forum, as you might get some feedback over there on that one...
This DR of it is simply unsurpassed.
No, sorry, better you mount a show in a Beverly Hills gallery, rightaway. Seriously!
@ Geraldine's phone, you can also do Ralph Gibson. Handsdown. Awesome
Barry, no comment. Great light(ing).
Johnny, beautiful colors, but who forgot that strange sex toy over there?
Hugs to all who are keeping this great stuff up!

The far side...

That's quite a compliment, Knut. Thank you! I don't have much of an education in photography so I had never heard of Ralph Gibson. What a talent that fellow is. I love his strong lines, high contrast, and feeling of deliberateness. It really speaks to me. Sometimes my photos feel too deliberate in their composition, though I try to maintain that feeling of stillness. Maybe that's not a bad thing. I'm grateful you told me about him.

I agree with you about pyro. It's not a magic bullet but I love what it does to cube grain film. With Pyrocat-HD I'm getting higher acutance, more dynamic range, mild compensation in highlights, and a bump in film speed. It really sings on slower medium format cube grain films. I'm going to try some two-bath pyro soon. This is the photo that sold me on pyro: <a href=" Leatherette
That's a grand photo of the child reading The Far Side. My boy is about the same age, same hair, same glasses. Perhaps I should get him the same book? He has a brilliant sense of humor so I know he would love it.
