Will Nikon 85/1.8D ease my aching to try a fast 85mm?

<p>I used to pine for this lens too, but I fell in love with the 77mm f1.8 limited. I like the light weight of the lens (the 85mm is pretty heavy) and with a cropped body especially I couldn't see why I'd want a longer lens.<br>

<p>The 77mm is a very nice lens and I enjoyed the speed and IQ when I had it. Somehow I could not get used to the way it handled physically, the pull-out hood especially used to drive me crazy. The physical form and handling of the gear are very important to me, the lens has to feel "right" in use.</p>
