Field tested the Canon FDn 200/2.8 today

<p>Took a walk in the woods carrying only this lens to force myself to use it for any / all things I might run across...Mother Nature obliged as usual…mushrooms & colored leaves made a nice splash.</p>

<p>Canon FDn 200/2.8, Sony NEX-7, AP Mode, Shade WB, ISO100, Shutter 1/8, F8</p>

Do you have the later internal focus lens or the earlier lens? I have the later IF lens and it is good but I find the 80 -200 f4 L zoom is

actually better (if slower)

Its the "generation 1" version with the Helicoid focusing mechanism like the 200 Macro.

My 80-200-L has better IQ as well, bought this one for its extra stop of light on misty days when I'd rather leave the more

expensive 80-200-L home in a dry house.
