alexander_molchanov
Hey
Just wondering, what is the normal way to store Bronica SQ-A camera if it's not intended to be used for some time?
Should I leave it "ready to shoot" with shutter cocked and mirror down or store it unwinded?
jamie_robertson2
If it concerns you, store it un-cocked with the mirror up and the battery out.
john_stockdale2
Always have the battery removed for long storage. The years go by,... and the next thing you know it's been a really long time, and most batteries can leak, even those advertised as not leaking.
This is from a Mamiya manual. My guess is that it applies to most cameras

"Prolonged disuse shortens camera life.
Periodically exercise the shutter at different
speeds, lens diaphragms and focusing mounts."
