The image quality is a substantial upgrade from the Canon that looked usable up to ISO 400 but fell apart pretty quick after that. The RX-100II is a truly beautifully made camera, too. Feels solid in the hand. Love the articulating screen. I wanted the Mark II for that screen, the hot shoe (for radio triggers) and longer 100mm equiv lens. Now that the Mark III is out, the Mark II (and I) have become more affordable. First the NEX 6, then the A7 and now the RX100II. With this upgrade my Sonyification is now complete.

Been experimenting with 55/3.5 Micro-Nikkor and Spiratone Portragon 100/4 soft focus lens on Fudgie X-A1 via inexpensive Fotasy adapter.
