ShunCheung
Rich, are you advertising for B&H? :-)
richsimmons
Naaahhhh, but it caught my attention. I do buy from them. I buy from Adorama, KEH and I've got two local shops in my town.
But you'd think they would have included some kind of rack system. Especially for manual focusing.
jonb
This is actually a Nikon kit, not just B&H: http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Nikon-Products/Digital-SLR-Cameras/D810-Filmmakers-kit.page
dan_brown4
Interesting. Apparently Nikon is rather keen for the DSLR video market segment.

Good for them :-)

I wonder of they have a serviceable audio CODEC, or it they expect user to run an external audio recorder and sync it on post? If so, where are the audio components in that package?
mike_halliwell
Wot, no zoom lens in the package?

Maybe they're going to make a powered zoom for DSLR Video makers?
Landrum Kelly
D810
The ultimate DSLR for filmmakers

That's a strong claim, but I can't blame Nikon for going after the video market.

--Lannie
elliot1
I think Nikon dropped the ball on video years ago and has a lot of catching up to do. I have been to numerous events where video was being shot and Canon DSLRs were being used exclusively.
wmervine
If you are spending this much to record, I'd budget for a decent external audio preamp. Then feed the Ninja.
Andrew Garrard
Lannie: Yes, I think there might be a 1Dc out there with a word to say about this. (Panasonic might want to say a few things as well, but not technically in a DSLR.) Claiming "ultimate" when you can't shoot 4K and several phones can is a bit dubious these days.
robert_stig
In my country (to the right of the us) and dslr videogs, its completely dominated by canon gear. Were talking more than 75%. Mainly 6d 70d 5dII 5dIII. Nikon has a lot of catching up to do. Theyve been asleep at the wheel Truthfully, even for still its dominated by canon. Although id say it a bit less than video side. Very sad.
