I can tell it's summer, because somewhat famous people are outside, selling pies. You may or may not recognize Rodney Henry - sometime rock and roller, now maker of large expensive "Dangerously Delicious" pies, and occasionally a personality on the Food Network. He's now based in Baltimore, and has been making appearances at a local Maryland farmer's market. There's a line at his booth until he's pretty well cleaned out of pies - every time. I think a big part of it is that he's true character, and really committed to what he's doing. Every walk-up customer gets a slice of his larger than life Bro-ness to go with the pie.

lex_jenkins
Brian is an artist I met while I was taking photos of purple thistle in The Stickplace Heath. As he approached, wading through the knee-high wildflowers, and spoke energetically and animatedly of his artistic and spiritual influences, the river of living water, I was reminded of the tale of Saint John in the wilderness.
Brian showed me some of his sketches. I bought one of his neo-Bruegelian sketches, a nifty cross between Renaissance Christian iconography of Pieter Bruegel and the densely interwoven symbolic anthropomorphism of 1960s underground art. I bought one that was reminiscent of my fave, Vaughn Bode.

Nikon V1, 10-30 VR @ 15mm (40mm), ISO 800, 1/40th @ f/4.2.

Nikon V1, 10-30 VR @ 10mm (27mm), ISO 3200, 1/20th @ f/3.5.

User_2019667
I have had a pair of mallard ducks hanging around the house for the past several weeks.
The female is siting in my front yard while her mate insists on taking a stroll in the middle of the road.
I'm afraid one day he will be duck soup if he doesn't stay off the roadway.
