md=2 motor drive

Which shutter release are you triggering? The one on the body will only fire the shutter and then you have to manually advance the film, same as if there were no motor drive. The button on the drive will fire the shutter and advance the film in one action. If it isn't something is off somehow.

I second Rick's suggestion. If that doesn't work, maybe the gears may have worn out so that it can spin without any load on it but slips when you attach it to the camera. Or, if it winds the camera but doesn't fire the shutter, there is a pin near the drive cog on the MD that is supposed to come up to trigger the shutter -- perhaps that is not working.

With the MD-2 you use the shutter button on the grip. Set the grip dial to S-single or C-continuous. Set the dial on the drive for your shooting speed from one frame to six per second with Ni-cad's and mirror locked up. Remember to set the film counter on the drive! If set to 36exp the drive will rip the film out of a 24exp cartridge.
When you are mounting the drive to the F2 you should fire it to sync it before locking it down. Heavy beast but fun.
