0.68 viewfinder on digital M and wide angle lenses

Can you please tell me what is the widest lens one can use on 0.68 viewfinders found on digital M models? Is it 28mm? I know that at some point one has to use external viewfinder but I'm wondering what is the widest one can go without an EVF.<br>

<p>The brochure for the camera, which you can download, should list the frame lines in the finder.</p>

<p>There is no limit, only you need external viewfinders for anything over 28mm on all except the M8. For M8 it is 24mm before using the external finder. With the M 240 you get live view.</p>

I have the finders but use them less and less. I guess and have increasing confidence with digital with which I have a

second chance, with most super wide shots I take not being time critical. I never tried to see the 28 frame lines in my M6

and can only see one at a time in my M9. I used the Zeiss 28 (25/28) Finder just once when I finally bought a 28 and I am

quite happy without it.

<p>Although the M8 has a 24mm frameline, good luck trying to see it all at the same time--even without wearing eyeglasses. The 28mm frameline is quite visible, even with glasses, and makes for a good 37mm equivalent view.</p>
