mark_s.4
I received an epson v700 from amazon today. After i did some scans i noticed that the scanner always makes some slight wheezing sound after a scan is finished. (For about 10 seconds) It is very very slight, maybe others wouldn`t even notice it. Not sure if this is normal?!
Did you ever notice this with your v700?

custom film holders for fl
Are you talking about the scanning head returning to the starting position after a scan is finished? There is also a bit of a changeover if you have finished making a scan using ICE but that usually isn't 10 seconds long.
Doug
mark_s.4
Its not the scanning head returning to the start position. And I was wrong when saying it appears for 10 seconds after a scan was done. Its more sporadic when the scanner is turned on. It comes from the backside of the scanner, maybe the power plug
Its sounds a bit like the first 10 seconds of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgFEEck8Nnw
Again, it is very slight but also a bit annoying.
thirteenthumbs
The video you refer to sounds like a squeal and if the scanner is in fact making a squealing sound anytime during the scan there is a problem with the scanner. Return it, sooner than later.
