steve_l
I want to take a B&W portrait of a family of four. two adults and two children. The family I am taking this for would like it to be panoramic for the wall they want to place it on. Does anybody have any creatove ideas for doing the photo? lacey_smith4
I'm sorry, do you mean the wall that is the eventual target is also the backdrop (one of those pictures ina pciture in a pciture things? -prephoto or Photoshop to the rescue?). or Do you mean a huge picture, that would straddle the wall? 35 mm, sinlge frame, ability ot weave together in photoshop or straight print? Access to wide angles, true panoramas?
nige_buddy
how about getting them to lie on the ground, on their sides, adults at the back, kids in the front and all heads in the middle!
birgit_baude
I understand the task as to take a picture that is veeeeery looooong (at least as long as the sofa is :-)) So you have to find a situation that allows your family to spread out (As i do not know whether your family wants an artistic or a funny photo I may be totally wrong): - You certainly know the famous album cover of "Abbey Road" of the Beatles, where they walk over a zebracrossing. Walking in line is a possibility to cover a lot of space - Or: put them in front of a brick wall (very nice contrasts for black and white). Everyone wearing clothes with good contrasts (striped shirt, plain blouse, long light dress, short black pants etc.) Put a lot of space between them. No sky. - Or as a funny motive: let them carry something very long together. Use an unusual environment (i.e. rolled carpet on the beach, canoe in the street) - Take three photos of the same motive but with different expressions in their faces (e.g. at each case three earnest, one laughing, or all of them looking in three different directions etc.) and hang the pictures side by side. fotografz
Do a "tug of war" shot. Get a long boat rope and go to a nice location as a backdrop. Lots of possibilities. Humorous: 2 kids on one end pulling the adults; Straight: Adult and kid on each side all smiling at camera; Surreal: all four on one side with the rope bleeding off the other side. Got a dog? Add it in like it takes all 4 of you walk it. One kid on each side with adults in middle skipping rope....and so on, and so on....all with a piece of rope. stephen hazelton
Line them up with heads touching, as near as possible, with eyes on the same level. Take the shot, crop off everything above and below the eyes, and enlarge to suit, preferably to several times life size. One big panorama of eyes....
