dcstep
I switch back and forth between a 7D (crop-sensor) and a full-frame (5D MkIII) and don't find the FF viewfinder to be a significant factor. AF, resolution, high-ISO are the most important factors for my bird photography. Only high-ISO performance is a general win for FF. With Canon, right now with current models, the full-frames happen to have the advantage in AF, but the next generation of crop sensor will probably close that gap totally.
