CoryAmmerman
This is a shot from a little personal project I'm working on with some really inexpensive zooms. This one is with an old Sigma manual focus 35-135. Is it the sharpest lens out there? Not by a long shot. Is it sharp enough to justify its $4 price tag? You bet.

hamish_gray
Roberta, thanks! I would of course prefer to take pictures of living bugs, but I can rarely get them to sit still for 30 seconds :-) These were taken with a 105mm af-s and a reversed old 50mm Ai stuck on the end of it, somewhere between f22 and f40 in available light, so I´m forced to use long shutter speeds.

Love your pictures too, and your zenfolio page is full of so many breathtaking pictures. Incredibly inspiring!

bogdan_nicolescu
Patrick, I'm a Mamiya guy:)
It's a small story about this gentleman living in Sulina, an old and isolated town at the mouths of Danube river.
I was setting up my Mamiya for a shot when this gentleman approached me and started asking about my camera, and then saying he's got a Hassy as well. Given the isolation of that place it was very surprising hearing his very knowledgeable talk about photography, cameras and so on.
It turns up he was a wedding photographer in Toronto, now retired and returned to his hometown.
He's got a pristine, well cared Hassy with three lenses and a full wedding photographer kit including couples of Metz flash guns and other goodies.
Although he did not use his gear for very long time it has a lot of sentimental value to him. I gave him couples of fresh rolls to replace his long expired films with the word that he has to use them.
I should pay a visit to him in the spring when this place becomes accessible again and see whether he took his Hassy out.
Member69643
Neat story, Bogdan! I have five medium format cameras but my Mamiya RB67 is my newest and favorite. What a beast it is though. Heavy.

Let us know if he took his Hassy out.
