chandler_ray
Hi,
I will be in Hawaii in January and I am planning to attempt to copy the James Russell shoot of Miranda Kerr (not with Miranda Kerr obviously) as shown in the following link:
http://www.fashionising.com/pictures/s--Miranda-Kerr-by-Russell-James-NSFW-8197-1.html
Can anyone suggest/guess as to what type of camera equipment/ lenses etc. was used to create this set of images? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Ray

chandler_ray
Any idea of the type of lense used? Will something like Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8IS II be able to create something similar?
johnw63
Remember, most often it is NOT some magical photography kit that makes the images, it's the photographer and their ideas with the tools at hand that make the shot. You could have the EXACT kit used in those shots and not come close to the same results, if you didn't have a clear vision of what you wanted and how to get there.
Since you have time, before the trip, I would suggest practicing with the gear you have and figuring out what you can do with it and THEN learning what you can't do with it. That time will help you figure out what lenses and other stuff you will need.

keith reeder
To emphasise John's point, I'm not seeing anything in those images that suggests only specific kit could achieve them.
sobing_lee
which band camera do you use? APS-C or 135 full frame ? Normally for 135 full frame 50MM 1.8or 85mm prime lens are idea for Portrait and charming bokeh.
