catchlight
I'm concerned that the weight of the 750 gram Canon EF 135mm f/2L lens, plus a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter, will put too much strain on the lens mounts of my EOS3 and D30. Canon does not offer a tripod ring for this lens. I also have the 72mm diameter 500D diopter, plus extension tubes, and would like to use them in various combinations with the TC's for closeup work. Perhaps this is an impractical idea, but does anyone know of a 3rd party tripod ring that would work with Canon EF teleconverters?

bobatkins
I think Kirk Enterprises make (or used to make) one. It wasn't cheap ($100 - $200?). Check their web site.
isaac sibson
As an aside point, I do wonder why it is that canon did not make the 2X TC compatible with Tripod Ring A, since they put an indentation on the barrel of the mk II which is quite similar, and for the 135 F2L and a few other lenses (200 F2.8 when used with a 1VHS or 3HS) it would prove useful.
