Since my car is out all week getting the dents out of it from our golf-ball sized hail I haven't been out much. Further as I haven't figured out how to put a 600mm lens + camera on my bike it will be a while before I'm out chasing birds.
Will hopefully upload something later, just wanted to get things rolling.

Can't imagine golf-ball sized hail. Or said camera/lens combo on a bike.
My contributions taken with the usual: K-5 and DA 21 (what I carry if I'm hiking and not specifically on a photo mission).

00bivS-540671084.jpg.02a5c66e4230d3bcebc85b7b73f30eea.jpg

Doug, please don't rush things - it's June, not September. My contribution for the week is two shots from the Cranberry Wilderness area, south of where I live in WV. Both taken with the K-5 and recently acquired Tamron 17-50/2.8.

00biz8-540675584.jpg.d2e9081a354bde3c246bcd848aa16dc1.jpg

As I noted, not much from me today.
I wish I had a reflector with me, but I was on the bike and had a minimal amount of equipment with me. After looking at the image I wish I had worked on cleaning up my background.

Aphids. Pentax K7, 100mm DA f2.8 macro at 800 ISO f14

This leaf appealed to me. It looked rather like a landscape of blood red rivers. I need to work on it some to get more of my vision in the image.

I found some petroglyphs I have known about for years but never located. I'd like to revisit these for some more interesting shots some time, maybe using stars as a backdrop...
Since the moon wasn't out it was a nice dark night for shooting stars. I did some light painting on this one.

Dave S. See you made it down to my backyard, another week or two and the glades orchids should be blooming.
Matt B. Love the milkyway shot.
Haven't shot a lot, still going easy on my arm, gonna follow Doctors orders to the letter of lifting nothing heavier than a coffe cup for 6 weeks makes for not much fun, not to mention the piling up of chores and projects around the house, going on 2 1/2 months of not working and no fun!

00bj9z-540710684.jpg.8c815a056fc60b56915612489131e052.jpg

A few late week comments.

Bob-I always love a silky stream with flat light. Works for me.

Matt-That second image, was that with a lensbaby? I really love that third image, the Milky Way, really nailed it.

Haig-You are really spot-on with those butterflies.

Robert-Boy, if I could get away I'd love to chase your 'Glade Orchids'. One of my favorite subjects. I really like the Towering Mushroom, and I don't think you broke any laws by laying down a leaf. I was wondering on the last image if you had tried shaving a little off the left side-seems like there is just a touch too much dark out there. A beautiful capture either way.

Jean - I like that first one. Nice lines and great texture in the grass.
Bob - nice water motion shots and great to see you getting back out!
Haig - really nice butterflies. I especially like the second one.
Robert - the sundews are really cool. It would be great to get one back lit. Your blue stars are my favorite of yours this week.
