tanjyhhern5
Hi all,
My D5100 got rained on pretty bad, and I removed the battery and SD card almost immediately when it started acting up and going in flash mode. Now, I have the problem of drying it off. Which would you recommend I use, rice or my dry cabinet? Thanks in advance.

Jyh Hern

dave_wilson1
When this event is over, however you solve it, make plans for future events. The simplist is to just keep a freezer ziplock bag in your pocket or bag. If you're out and about and rain starts, put it in the bag and seal it. This probably sounds like the obvious, but many photogs keep fancy equipment and are yet not prepared to deal with the elements.
stank
Try some desiccant (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/Search?catalogId=10053&dym=desiccant&langId=-1&storeId=10051). Rice is ok but this should do better.
Stan
