Good Nikon Wednesday wishes to everyone. Hope that spring is in full swing for most, now. Of course we had a frost warning this morning.

We're also getting those quickly passing spring storms - the type that almost wash down the choking pollen before the sun pops back through and puts that water to work as lenses.

Point your lenses at any lenses? Share!

Hi everyone in Nikon-land. Sure loved the photos last week. Here are mine for this week.... All shot with the D300. Lenses, Sigmonster 300-800mm f/5.6 & the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro

1. New bird for me - a Wilson's Warbler - this is a slight crop

D300 + Sigmonster Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6 @ 800 mm, 1/1600, ISO 400

2. A Flowering tree which came into view while waiting on the birds to come play....

D300 + Sigmonster Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6 @ 800 mm, 1/1600, ISO 400

3. A bug I found in the garden today while working in the garden... this was shot vertically, but I don't like it that way so presented horizontally..... ;)

D300 + Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro at f/8 @ 150 mm, 1/800, ISO 400 -1/3 EV

Finally I want to thank Shun for all his advice & help over the years. It seems I was brave last year & entered a photo in a National Geographic contest. Turns out my photo lasted several turns, but didn't win anything. It did however become one of the best for 2012. Shun has for many years supported me with advice & encouragement. So I want to take time out to say - - Shun, thank you with all my heart. You're a great mentor & support.

OK enough of that - - on with the show... Can't wait to see what you all have to share with us this week.

This one goes back a way with me, actually 1988. I used a Nikon F3, Nikkor 400mm f3.5, TC14-B 1.4 teleconverter, a Gitzo Studex Tripod, Arca Swiss Monoball head, and Kodachrome 64. There is a series of this Sumatran Orangutan in an isolated exhibit in captivity that I was lucky to get responses from.

00be6G-537195584.jpg.1a5f68369deafe655e73004116b7cca4.jpg

Good Wednesday, everybody! Some great shots already!
These days I mostly can take photos either in my backyard or while walking the dog -- no time for anything else. Here is one from the backyard.

00be6j-537205584.jpg.57ea8591b3fad6f65eddad33f128d99c.jpg

My contribution could be titled "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..." As some people have said.
Taken in a zoo with Nikon D300s and 200-400 f/4 VR. I used a tripod.
If you don't like the photos I hope you find them interesting at last.
Regards, Miha.

00be7P-537219584.jpg.2855c269071d8531d4d2532624dfbd05.jpg
