hoshisato
Do the limitations of using older flash units on DSLRs (high trigger voltage damaging camera) also apply to the Pentax 645NII and Pentax 67II cameras? I'm usually overly cautious and haven't tried it, but maybe I'm just too cautious and maybe it is perfectly fine with these cameras.

I do ask as I just bought a Lastolite 3m p-TTL cord for my Pentax cameras which has an additional hot-shoe mount on the top of the part that connects to the camera hot-shoe, allowing me a 2nd flash. In other words, the old flash would not be connected directly to the hot-shoe of the camera.
peter_simpson1
Just use a safe-sync or similar and don't worry about it.
If you or a friend is technically inclined, it's a simple job to convert an old flash to a low-voltage trigger (four or five components that can be mounted in the flash).
