Of course the flash unit has capabilities the FM cannot take advantage of, but should I be concerned that the extra contacts on the shoe of the Sunpak will somehow electronically damage the camera? todd peach seattle, washi Posted December 11, 2002 Share Posted December 11, 2002 If I had damage concerns, it would be for the flash in this instance. As I recall, the FM hot shoe had a pretty generous plastic insert. If not, and the 'extra' pins on your sunpak are contacting metal on the FM hot shoe, you might get some odd behavior.
