clark_king1
I have recently posted a similar question, will be shooting some outdoor portraits and will want to do some B+W Portraits. Any reason why I should use B+W portra or Tri-X? Also is a more saturated film such as portra vc or some other comparable really needed in portraits, or in your experience, has nc been okay. I know that personal experiments with these different films is best but I'm just doing a little research. Thanks to everyone that offers insight! tim_atherton2
unless you are using a roll back, you will need to shoot Tr-X (actually, Try HP5). I'm pretty sure portra B&W doesn't come in sheets
clark_king1
Do you normaly shoot hp5 any different than say tri-x? just curious. C king
scott_eaton
I offered office on this topic and my response was promptly deleted. Tri-X is fine - any lab can process it and you don't need to process it at home.
bernhard
Scott,

your answer wasn't deleted, Clark just posted his question twice, once here in the LF forum, once in the MF forum, where your first answer is.
IMHO your first answer is the better one

bernhard
Oops,

I had looked in the datasheet I had downloaded some time ago, they are listed there, in the new datasheet it's gone.

Sorry for the misinformation, I didn't think that even new emulsions go the KODAK way ...
