rodeo_joe1
All compatibility questions are answered in the D800 manual. See pp 381-382 for flash compatibility, and pp 371-372 for lens compatibility. Incompatible lenses and accessories are listed on p 374.

ShunCheung
The rule of thumb is quite simple: all Nikon DSLRs since the D2H introduced in July 2003 use i-TTL. There are only four Nikon DSLRs that were introduced before the D2H, namely the D1, D1X, D1H and D100. Everything else is i-TTL compatible. Very few people are still using those old DSLRs nowadays.

Nikon i-TTL-compatible flashes have 3-digit model numbers: SB-R200, SB-400, SB-600, SB-700, SB-800, SB-900, and SB-910.

Therefore, unless you are talking about one of those four early Nikon DSLRs, everything else is compatible with Nikon flashes with 3-digit model numbers.
