Updating Firmware to v. 1.5

<p>Just received my OM-D-E-M5 and the version is 1.1. I noticed that Olympus has issued a version 1.5. Should I update now? I heard there was a serious problem with version 1.2!</p>

<p>I've just updated my new OMD to v1.5.<br>

Its very easy to do with the Olympus software updater application that you can download from the site; it then automatically reads firmware version and gives you update options when you plug in the camera using the USB cable.<br>

In my case I had to do update in 2 steps - v1.1 to v1.2, and then v1.2 to v1.5. It didn't let me do stright to v1.5 in the one step. But it was quite simple and no problems.</p>

<p>and do you loose whatever configuation you have loaded into the camera as a consequence?</p>

<p>The Olympus site tells you what bugs the updates fix - I don't recall, but on principle try to maintain my firmware current.</p>

<p>I didn't lose any custom settings or configuration on upgrading.</p>
