charles_mason
Hey does anyone know if the batteries are being drained if you don't turn the 67ii to Lock instead of On, or do I have a problem somewhere (with my camera that is...). Just lost two new batteries in 1 month without usage but camera was in the On position. Thanks.
thirteenthumbs
With a piece of electronic gear in the "ON" position there will be a constant drain on the battery. Some pieces such as a camera will be in a standby state after a few minutes of no input but there will still be a small battery drain.

In the "OFF" position there should be no battery drain. If batteries go bad with the piece of equipment in the Off or Lock position then there is a problem with that piece of equipment.
guy_gervais
Hi,

Why don't you just put the battery in the camera when you use it?

G
donbright
I keep the camera in the off position when not in use, and I've got a little game going on here in that the batteries in the camera today, have been in there for a year now, and I did a test to see where they're at, and the needle indicator shows full! Who knew? So just a note that Pentax 67IIs don't eat batteries unless there's something wrong with that unit.
User_4136860
If a camera has excessive battery drain it has an electrical fault, and needs some attention by a professional repairer.
