evannorth
are the 17-50, and 17-70mm os sigma lenses good on the d7000?
Wouter Willemse
Yes, they should be fine (if you do not mind that Sigma zooms the wrong way around compared to a Nikkor). The 17-70 OS is tested on the D7000 on photozone: http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-aps-c-lens-tests/705-sigma1770284os . The 17-50 f/2.8 OS not yet, but all other reviews I read of this lens rate it highly.
mike_halliwell
+1 Wouter. I'm looking at the 17-50mm 2.8 OS myself. I like the constant f2.8 over the other lens. Positive review here..

http://www.lenstip.com/index.html?test=obiektywu&test_ob=256

I've got the much older non-OS and pre-HSM version, that was great on my D300, but as I now have a D3200 and D5100, they don't AF.
kylebybee
Look at the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 as well, I have it on my D7000 and love it. It is very sharp from edge to edge and does well hand holding when necessary.

The Sigma has a stabiliization system, unlike the Nikon.

About £500 for the Sigma and ~£1000 for the Nikon.

Kyle, do you have the VC version?
eric_arnold
havent tried it on a d7000, but i use my 17-50 OS on a d300s. it's a pretty good lens. my biggest gripe is that the zoom ring turns the wrong (Canon) way. more of an annoyance, really. the pics it produces are quite sharp and the stabilization is great to have (and mostly silent).
