<p>Yes, they should be fine (if you do not mind that Sigma zooms the wrong way around compared to a Nikkor). The 17-50 f/2.8 OS not yet, but all other reviews I read of this lens rate it highly.</p>

<p>Look at the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 as well, I have it on my D7000 and love it. It is very sharp from edge to edge and does well hand holding when necessary.</p>

<p>Now resolution isn't everything by any stretch of the imagination, but it does encompass some of the IQ limiting factors. The Sigma has a stabiliization system, unlike the Nikon.</p>

<p>About £500 for the Sigma and ~£1000 for the Nikon.</p>

<p>havent tried it on a d7000, but i use my 17-50 OS on a d300s. it's a pretty good lens. my biggest gripe is that the zoom ring turns the wrong (Canon) way. more of an annoyance, really. the pics it produces are quite sharp and the stabilization is great to have (and mostly silent).</p>
