jeremy_wakefield
I have recently read the if you install DXO Optics Pro on your computer it installs an anti-piracy piece of software too. Apparently there is a chance ( though a small one ) that this can cause issues with some programs. Also this software can't be removed apparently, even if you uninstall DXO

According to what I read, even a trial version does this.

Does anyone know if this is true and if it is, can it really not be removed? I am using Mac OSX 10.7

William

keith reeder
The old Pace Anti Piracy software "scandal"..?

DxO dropped that by release 6 as far as I'm aware, and release 8 of Optics Pro came out recently.
jeremy_wakefield
Ah. My information is out of date. BUT as I have DXO Pro 5 on my computer ( I actually transferred it along with everything else when I bought a new one - doh! ) I might have it.

William
keith reeder
You might, William - but in truth, the "issue" was blown out of all proportion, and the actual risk of harm from Pace Interlok is vanishingly small, unless you're extremely unlucky.
