Greetings Nikonians, wherever you are in the world! I wish you all a good Wednesday. My thoughts are with those who experienced loss of relatives or homes due to hurricane Sandy. Hopefully all of you Nikonians are still with us, and hopefully you have not been effected too badly. The damages Sandy have caused are enormous, and it was surreal to watch what happened on the East Coast. While watching the terrible news, we had a beautiful winter night here. With fresh powder snow, no wind and the full moon was shining bright all night. The contrasts couldn’t have been bigger. Good luck also to those of you who have a lot of work to do to get back to “business as usual”.

00ayy4-501785584.jpg.230d3c8a6cdebffc0e7e06287d41ef70.jpg

Happy Halloween Wednesday everyone! Hope those of you on the other side of the pond are all safe and dry.

Lovely pictures as always. I particularly liked John F's welsh landscapes; I love that part of the world.

Two main photographic events for me this week. Firstly, my daughters and friends all dressed up for one of several Halloween parties...

Hi Fantastic Stuff, really strong and varied set of images this week. Will need to scan back through the last few weeks!

One from a few weeks ago, finally plucked up the courage to take the DSLR to the Barge, loads of images to sort through. Will be taking it again..should have a lot sooner too!

D40X (18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G) @ 18mm, f/8 @ 1/500s ISO 100

00az2X-501845684.JPG.aa80b48bd691de80980cb316f6df446f.JPG

Great stuff this week, again! I spent some time catching up on some photo culling this week. This was a

nice find because recently one of my coworkers was asking about purchasing a DSLR for soccer. He was

asking about how much frame rate would affect shooting his daughter's games. I love 10 fps!
00az40-501865584.jpg.d609811c9349d5fa7fb6a902f6a1ef6a.jpg

A lot to really like this week, folks! But I have to say I've had the most fun enjoying Bing H's ... Green Thing. It's not fair to skip over so many others I like so well, but that's just it, this week - it's a bumper crop! Nice work everyone, and thanks to so many east coasters who probably had a very busy and wet past 48 hours. I'm sure we'll see lots of storm stuff next week.

But until then, don't forget that the Red Cross is already out there helping out with housing and support for many people who are dealing with real loss and damage across a large swath of the country. They can always use a quick, small, online donation to keep up with things. Sure feels like my area dodged a bullet, and that little reality check makes writing a little check that much easier. Don't mean to hijack this bounty of enjoyable photography with a fund raising pitch, but it seemed worth saying.

Looking forward to next week! Thanks again, everybody, for the weekly trip around the world.
