Thanks for starting the thread Jemal
I like the Mystic of L Baby - the return
Bob The classic Vermont scene looks like a painting. What are the items to the right of the barn? one looks like a steam engine head on and the one mostly hidden by the small tree could be a caboose.
We went to my youngest granddaughters last soccer game of the season Saturday.
Here are some shots from it

00aySj-501387684.jpg.4a2165266c25582dfeb737d338b217cc.jpg

Nice work so far guys! I like the middle shot too, Jemal, and all three Vermont pictures. I've used a very similar set-up for soccer with that age kids Patrick and it isn't easy - those are great action shots.

I woke up before the dawn on a day I didn't have to work, AND my wife and kids were out of town. Go figure. So I went down to the lake to catch the sunrise. Took DA15 and 55-300 - a good combo.

00ayT6-501391584.JPG.bc50758fe350d060926cf8584e0fff50.JPG

Well..I haven't posted for a few weeks, so it is time to try and contribute again! We went to Mt. St. Helens in 2001, and were incredibly impressed by the scenes around the volcano. It was amazing to see how much devastation remained, even 20 years after the eruption. we went again a few weeks ago, and now we could see nature at work restoring the area. Here's an aerial shot of Spirit Lake, taken through the plexiglas of a helicopter.

In 2001, there was almost no vegetation between the volcano and the lake. Now, the volcanic flow is starting to show grasses and shrubs. In another 10 years, who knows? maybe trees will grow again!!
If you want to compare then and now, go to http://www.pbase.com/dgimc/mt_st_helens . I've got a pano that I took then, along side this picture from October 2012.

Hey Jemal, hot stuff! Glad you started. I was at Wave Hill in the Bronx (again (for a workshop) last Thursday and took what are the last of my fall pictures from there. They've probably taken in all of the potted plants but they've got a lot of very big, old trees which may not survive but they were here for the last REALLY big storm in 1938. There also glass greenhouses. Hopefully all will survive. Meanwhile Facebook pictures and comments say there are cars floating down Wall Street.

So, the calm before the storm:

My favorites of this week are:

Patrick Wells - First soccer shot is awesome. Love the slight blur.

Nick Siebers - Love the feel of Picnic point at dawn.

Matt Burt - All three are gorgeous. I am once again coveting the DA15.

Ian McMillan - Spirit lake. Wow.

Robert Buck - Here comes Sandy. That is an awesome shot. So is Looking like winter. Does make me glad I am in sunny Southern California though.

Howard Tarragon - Love the pop of the colors in 2.

Hope everyone on the East Coast made it through safely with minimal to no losses.

Thanks Douglas and Jemal!
Here are my picks:
Jemal - your second. Nice light, good DOF, interesting model. Good work!
Nick - that nice soft light behind the trees in the third one works well.
Robert - love the snow! I hope to see some around here soon.
Howard - great color in the third one but too bad you couldn't go wider to get in front of that pine on the right!

Faves of the week
Jemal - L Baby - interesting crop
Bob - Trout Stream
Patrick - #3
Nick - #3
Matt - tree roots/mastodon head and tusks. If I stand in front of the tree and go wide 10-15mm the pergola and plants get lost.
Jemal and Matt, thanks for the thumbs up.
