A good Wednesday to everyone. The autumnal things keep happening around here. Harvest-ish stuff. Like ... pie baking contests at the local farmers market. As quaint as that sounds, we even attracted a minor celebrity. Andrea Roane has been anchoring the news in the DC area for over 30 years, and is a singularly likable person. Having been talked into judging a dozen pies, here she is sharing a pastry-related moment with local photographer Hal Hoiland. The peach pie won, in case you're curious. Photographed any journalists sampling pies with fellow photographers? Of course you have - share a photo!

00auPQ-499133584.jpg.910b6d3b01e88dfe4e347dcf22ac8c8a.jpg

Just moved from the California North Coast and am now in the California central valley. Like living in a different state.
This is a photo of what I believe to be a Glossy Ibis in flight at the Cosumnes River Wildlife Reserve
