dougfromtumwater
Hello I am interested in using flash with my M6TTL and 21mm. Since the viewfinder occupies the hot shoe, I assume that I will need a flash bracket and PC cord. Any favorite combos to suggest? Any way to maintain the TTL flash metering? Thanks much. charles barcellona www.bl
Just for grins.. covering the 21mm lens angle of view with flash takes a bit of doing. I'd think in terms of one of handle mount Metz units in a small softbox. TTL is no problem.
al_kaplan1
Vivitar makes (or used to make) a filter holder for the 283 and a set of fresnel lenses for it to adjust the coverage for a variety of wide angle and long lenses. The "ultra wide" lens will cover the 21 with room to spare. I should dig it out and see what it can do with a 15.
john_collier2
Pentax makes a modular TTL cable that will allow you mount a viewfinder on top of the cable. However I have had some troubles with poor connections with this system. http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/v10/msg01715.html
lucien1
Doug, If you want to work in TTL flash mode with the M6TTL + viewfinder, there is a solution in the Pentax accessories list : < http://www.pentax.com/products/accessories/accessories.cfm?accessoryType=access > You will need : - 2 Hot Shoe Adapters F (Catalog No.:31022 Hot Shoe Adapter) - 1 Extension Cord F - 5P (Catalog No.: 37347 Extension Cord F5P) 1) Put the Hot Shoe Adapter on the camera 2) Slide the Viewfinder in the Hot Shoe of the Adapter 3) Plug the Extension cord on the side of the Shoe Adapter 4) Plug the other end of the cord on the second Hot Shoe Adapter 5) Put you flash on that adapter AFTER a slight modification of the shoe*. * You will have to remove from the adapter what prevent the foot of the flash to slide totally inside the shoe. WARNING: Don't put the extended adapter foot directly on a metallic shoe like on the Leitz CTOOM. Put some tape on it first. (Because of its 4 contacts)
