Black necked stilts, Nikon D800E with 500mm/f4 AF-S lens at f8, 1/500 sec, and ISO 200.

Since there were three birds, I stopped down further to f8 to make sure that I had more depth of field, hence I also increated the ISO to 200 to maintain a good shutter speed @ 1/500 sec. The lens was on a Gitzo 1325 tripod and Wimbeley head.

00aYBL-477539584.jpg.f21f9a1bc30e4396dc01808631ea3359.jpg

Happy Wednesday everyone!
So, after much thought I decided that the D700 was a good addition to my kit. Arrived on Saturday and I am very pleased. Anyway, while wandering around figuring out my new toy, I came across this restored 1933 Ford BB Truck. B&W with sepia toning seemed appropriate.

Happy wednesday!
Bashar - stellar action-shot!
Here's a picture I've shot this monday for a paper - the weather was changing between heavy rain-showers and sunshine every hour.
The „lake” in the foreground is a shallow puddle.

Taking a walk in the woods my daughter caught a toad. When she put him down on a tree stump I snapped a couple of pics of him. I had the camera already setup from some shots of damselflies I was shooting earlier. I continue to be amazed at how good the AF is on the D800E and how well the images hold detail. You can see the original pixels here.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Exceptional photos this week, maybe the best ever? I especially enjoyed:
Barry's Yosomite landscape
Dieter's Maculele dancer
Garcia's car
Bashar's baseball players
Tom's ship
Roberta's dragonfly
and Panayotis's ship

Another quiet week for me; so here's another from our trip to a holiday park the weekend before last. My daughter enjoying a "Canoe Capers" session :-)

00aYG6-477615584.jpg.0594ecd0b894bc24cb2ae6b49ef7884c.jpg

I really hate being late to this party but long summer work hours prevent posting any earlier. Oh well. Lots of neighborhood flowers in S Florida. Went walking after an afternoon shower with my new D7000 and ran across these.

I'm going to try and start contributing to this thread on a regular basis - in part to help me deal with the agony of waiting for my D800E that I still have no delivery date for.

This is from earlier this month at the National Zoo in Washington - a frequent weekend destination for my family.

00aYJJ-477665584.JPG.6e8e9bd4d8d5315e61fdcb308b07e788.JPG

WOW! Just had a look over the past 6 weeks worth of images. Impressive guys, really impressive stuff! Been working away with the new compact, an Olympus SZ-14... it is cheeky to post on here having only passed the image through Capture NX or View NX. So Check out the link, Not a bad bit of kit for travelling. Meanwhile something from a few weeks back.

I have been cleaning my darkroom; there were loads of test prints I kept for nothing; my contri this week is just a scan of one of this prints.
It happened hundreds of years ago, when I still enjoyed a reasonable good mobility... I pointed my camera to my buddies on a huge local rock. I cannot remember the camara I used, but for sure it was either a F3, FM2 or even a 28Ti.
