alez_minovic
Hi friends, I'm going to buy a leica M6 ttl with 0.72x version. I plan to use the 1.25x viewfinder magnifier with it as well. I have a question that, when I attached the magnifier, leica says that the lineframe of 28mm lens cannot be seen... Has anyone tried to use the black edge of the viewfinder to guess for frameline for 28mm lens after the lens has been attached ?? Thanks a lot Alez
chris c
Alex, The 28mm lines do not go away they are just way outside now. You will have to scan the viewfinder to be able to pick up all the lines. The you could of course just unscrew the 1.25 when you attach the 28mm and leave it hanging from the cord & hook. watts
Personally, I think Leica is right about this. The 28mm frame lines are not usable on the 0.72 with 1.25x magnifier attached. Even without the magnifier, I don't particularly like using the 28mm framelines on the 0.72 body.
paul hart
If you're going to use the 28 a lot, I suggest you consider the .58 model. I too have the 1.25 magnifier and am underwhelmed. Fine for 90 & 135 lenses, but it seems to reduce viewfinder contrast and brightness noticeably so I do without it whenever I can - certainly for 50 & wider.
