V500 + BetterScanning Film Holder Help Please

I have an Epson V500, and my new BetterScanning.com film holder just showed up. I excitedly opened the box and now I'm...stumped. He's on East Coast time, so I'm posting here in case there's another West Coaster that can help me out tonight...</p>

<p>So, with this film holder, am I supposed to scan with the flatbed scanner instead of the lid scanner? If I put the film holder "bumpers down" so that I scan with the lid, then the glass is going to fall out. If I put it "bumpers up", then I'm scanning with the flatbed, BUT the Epson Scan software doesn't have settings for scanning film on the flatbed.</p>

<p>What's the trick here? </p>

<p>Long story short - Doug at BetterScanning.com rocks. This was my misunderstanding. The lid in the V500 is not a scanner, it's a light source. The scanning still happens in the flatbed</p>
