brian_ellis19
After a recent move the front door/tray latch on my Epson 3800 printer fell out when I opened the front door/tray and the door now won't stay closed. When I first opened the door after the move two pieces fell out, a small piece of black plastic (presumably the latch into which the back of the door fits) and a small (about one inch) spring. I see how and where the black plastic piece fits into the front of the printer. But I don't know where the small spring is supposed to go and without it the door won't stay shut. Does anyone know where that spring goes - maybe into the black plastic piece somehow?

I searched here and found nothing on point except a message from me back in 2007 where I responded to someone's question about this latch by saying I had no problems with it. : - )

I'd strongly suggest some form of velcro or other method until the printer is retired.
